This is a friendly reminder that the regularly scheduled Columbia Area Linux
User Group meeting will be held this Wednesday November 12.

Our guest will be Amy Begg De Groff, Director of Information Technology at
the Howard County Library.

For those that are unaware the Howard County Library system consistently
ranks highly on national lists of public libraries. While maintaining these
high standards they are strong proponents of Open Source. These high marks
are achieved using Ubuntu on all of the nearly 300 customer facing PCs. A
majority of the staff machines are running Ubuntu and the backend inventory
systems are about to be switched over to use an Open Source solution.

Go take a peek at the HC Library's blog at
http://hclibrary.org/opensource/to see what Amy's been talking about
recently. Visit the library if you
haven't for a while and notice the new software images that are on the PCs
with the customers using them for various tasks, use the free wifi and get
your questions together for her.

As normal the meeting will run from 7-9pm at Tenable Network Security's
Columbia, MD office located at 7063 Columbia Gateway Drive Suite 100. Enter
via the patio door with the blue tables.
