As I mentioned at the last meeting, Linux.com has been taken over by the
Linux Foundation. They are trying to make it more of a community site,
and have added social networking for users. I created a group for CALUG
(http://linux.com/community/groups/viewgroup/391-Columbia+Area+LUG+%28MD%2C+US%29).
(Chuck, I just pointed people to our website.)

They are trying to get people to participate by running a contest for
the 'Ultimate Linux Guru'. You get points for different types of
contributions, such as answering questions and writing tutorials. Each
year (Feb. 15), the member with the most points gets a high-end laptop
"signed by Linux Torvalds".

If you haven't seen Linux.com in the past few years, it already had a
pretty decent amount of useful content, and that seems to still be
there. And with the contest running, it might be a good place to ask
questions about obscure technical issues.

Later . . . Jim
