Greetings Everyone and Happy New Year!

For our first meeting of 2012 we will be welcoming Dale Vogel and his
Introduction to GIT talk January 11, 2012.

We will again be at the offices of Tenable Network Security located at
7063 Columbia Gateway Drive Columbia, MD 21046. We will be starting at
6:30pm with pizza and soda provided by Praxis Engineering. At about 7
we'll open the meeting and welcome Dale Vogel as our speaker!


"Introduction to Git"

The presentation will be an introduction to version control, and GIT 
Version Control in particular. Topics covered will be why use version 
control, version control history, introduction to Git, Git basics, a 
Git demo, and how Git integrates with the world. For those that bring 
your laptops to the meeting, the goal is for you to be up and running 
and knowledgeable enough to use Git version control in your daily work 
by the end of the meeting.  Git runs on Linux, Mac and Windows.

About Dale Vogel

Dale has been working with computers in both hardware and software for 
the last 20 years. Since 2006, he has been doing PHP/MySQL web 
development on the Windows and Linux platforms. He has designed and 
developed both commercial and non-commercial web sites, and custom 
applications. Dale writes a blog at www.geekgumbo.com . He has been 
using version control software since 2007, starting with Bazaar and 
moving to Git in 2008. He currently is the Git System Administrator at 
his current company.
