Greetings all,

The March 11th meeting for CALUG will feature Bert discussing
Virtual/Augmented reality systems. If you were at our February meeting you
got a preview of this month's topic.

Bert is passionate about transhumanism, disruptive technology, and computer
security. He prototypes Virtual/Augmented Reality systems as a medium for
creative expression.

He will present a brief history of VR to Oculus+ (current times), detail
potential applications, the vision, discuss some hackathons/competitions
happening right now, using Linux as the main platform, Q&A, Demos, and chat.

Bert is currently seeking team members for Oculus' Mobile VR Jam 2015
competition, with details of the competition at
http://vrjam.challengepost.com/. The best app/game created for the GearVR
[the headset brought in and demoed at the February meeting] competes for a
pool of $1 million in cash prizes. He has some good ideas already to work
on and could use some Javascript / Android / Game developers.

The meeting will take place at OmniTI, located in Fulton, MD. The
address is 11830 West Market Place Fulton, MD 20759. The building is
near the Harris Teeter, easily seen from the road. When you approach the
HT head on, the OmniTI office is to its right.

We'll be using the back entrance which is surrounded by plants which
will lead directly to the meeting room.

Be sure to show up from 6:30 until 7 for pizza provided by Tenable
Network Security and socializing. The meeting will start about 7pm.
