size="4"> Microsoft
has announced that it will no longer support its Windows XP
operating
system at the end of this month. This means that they will no
longer
provide system updates to correct software bugs and provide
security
on all computers running the XP operating system. This will
leave
your computer vulnerable to software bugs in the XP operating
system
and more importantly will create an opportunity for hackers to
exploit without Microsoft closing these software holes. </font>
</p>
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="LEFT"><font
size="4"> The
best way to protect yourself is to trade your Windows computer
for
either an Apple Macintosh or a PC running Windows 7 or better.
Be
sure to take all your important files, back them up in a safe
place
(DVD, Flash Drive, Cloud, External HD) to be reloaded on your
new
computer.</font></p>
<p class="western" style="margin-bottom: 0in" align="LEFT"><font
size="4"> There
is however good news for those who would like to use their
current
computer or want to save some money. Ubuntu is scheduled to
release
the new version (14.04) of its operating system in two weeks.
Ubuntu
is a virus and hacker resistant operating system that is
supported by
the professional and armature computer community as a nonprofit
organization. It is free of charge and will run on many older
computers. In fact it will outperform Windows because it is
linux
based. Most applications are also open source and free of
charge.
These applications are equal or better than that of their
Windows
counterparts.</font></p>
