    Job Description
    Performs system administrative duties for the
NWS/MDL software maintenance test systems. Works in
    partnership with the current lead system
    administrators at the Science and Engineering
Center    (SEC) for the NMTW, NMTR, NHDA and NAPO
software    maintenance test systems. Duties will
include: system    administration of the NWS/MDL NHDW
and NHDx software  maintenance test systems,
administration of a Unix development laboratory that
includes RedHat Linux and
    HP-UX operating systems; administration of
multiple
    NIS/NFS environments; configuration and
installation
    of various development software builds and
services
    across four NIS domains; provide user support
    including developer support for issues as diverse
as POSIX compliant interfaces, shell scripting (csh,
ksh,  bash, PERL), portability, and build environment 
  maintenance.

    Qualification Required
    
    BS in Computer Science or equivalent and at least
3
    years experience in administration of Linux
systems
    and administration of large number of systems.
Ability  to work under pressure and prioritize
workload.   Ability to work with all levels of
personnel. Must have excellent verbal communications
skills. Must   possess excellent time management
skills. Strong team   player.

    Qualification Desired
    
    Familiarity with the AWIPS suite of applications.
    Experience in administration of the NWS/MDL NHDW
and    NHDx software maintenance test systems.
Familiarity    with PHP and TCL/Tk and Red Hat
certification.

    ENSCO's Aerospace Sciences and Engineering
division
    (ASE) is located in Cocoa Beach FL, with satellite
    offices in Illinois, California, Maryland,
Alabama,
    and at the Kennedy Space Center in FL. ASE

    Weather Service. The AMU develops, evaluates and
    transitions technology to operations for weather
    support to America’s space program.
    
    RISE is ENSCO’s Range Instrumentation Simulation
    Environment system. RISE is the result of ENSCO’s
    development of mathematical models and simulations
to
    reduce the risks and costs associated with testing
and
    evaluating space launch range assets.
    
    ENSCO provides critical aviation weather
forecasting
    for United, Korean, and Singapore Airlines.
    ENSCO’s premier weather forecasting decision
    support system, MetWise, provides professionals
with a   solution to increase safety, reduce cost and
lessen  weather impacts to critical operations.
    
    Additionally, the ASE division provides on-site
    scientific and technical support for the National
    Weather Service AWIPS weather program in Silver
Spring    Maryland and NASA's Short-Term Prediction,
Research    and Transition program in Huntsville AL.
