Senior Systems Administrator 

Keywords: Redhat Linux, Windows 2003 Server, VMware 

Position Summary: 
This position is responsible for daily activities necessary to
support Redhat Linux Servers, Windows 2003 Servers, Vmware
infrastructure, and the network. This position is also responsible
for analysis, design, implementation, support, and troubleshooting of
the environment. 
Essential Duties: 
Operation Support: 
Perform daily Redhat Linux system administration duties (user account management, Data Backup, Email) and maintenance. 
Upgrade and troubleshoot Redhat Linux and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 hardware and Operating software 
Collaborate with customer support to provide Level II and III troubleshooting in support of technical solutions 
Monitor Redhat Linux and Windows Server assets and system resources ( Memory, CPU utilization, Disk capacity, etc) 
Performs network system administration duties, including switches and routers.
Manage core infrastructures such as Apache, DNS, Email (postfix, dovecot, spamassassin), OpenLDAP, and DR. 
Provide Detailed Documentation and Procedures for all solutions. 

Project Support: 
Provide analysis and design for IT business requirements 
Provide systems engineering support on major projects, upgrades, and installations 
Perform installation, configuration, testing, and deployment of IT initiatives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 
Exceptionally Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux and Windows 2003 Servers (networking, storage, security) 
Familiarity with MySQL databases and web automation 
High availability, Load balancing, and failover scenarios 
Strong working knowledge of Linux based Network Attached Storage (NAS) 
Automation via scripting (Perl, Shell) 
File Replication, Files System Tuning, Upgrading and Configuring 
Documentation of processes and procedures 
Experience supporting Windows / Linux systems in a heterogeneous networked environment 
Experience with Ethernet networking, multi-layered switching and routers 
Have in-depth knowledge of Unix networking (IPSec, SSL, OpenVPN) 
Knowledge of router systems (Linux IP Tables and IPVS routing)

Education / Experience: 
B.S. degree computer science or related degree or relevant experience 
3-4 years of System Administration of Linux and Windows Server Environments 
Redhat Linux certification desire 
Windows Server certification desire
