Our client, an enterprise sized communications company, is looking for a
Junior to Mid Level Linux Engineer to join their team in Reston, VA. The
ideal candidate will have a few years of systems administration
experience, experience with RHEL (or similar flavor), and a great
personality. This is laid back environment where creativity and growth
are encouraged.

Summary:

The Linux Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design of
system architectures and solutions to bring to market new innovative
products which span web service offerings. Other duties involve
assisting in the planning, designing, integrating, testing, deploying
and supporting of products.

Core Responsibilities
- Develops solutions to a wide range of difficult applications, problems
or procedures.
- Uses applied engineering concepts, skills and methodologies to help
promote and embrace
change.
- Works on small projects and issues within the group.
- Serves as a technical resource.
- Contributes to hands-on engineering.
- Works on projects and tasks ensuring desired results.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Education Level Bachelors Degree or Equivalent Field of Study
Engineering, Computer Science

Ideally the candidate will have 1-5 years of experience with Linux Red
Hat but will consider someone that has worked with other flavors

Scripting experience with Perl would be great but would consider (Bash,
Shell, etc.)

Candidate must have strong eagerness to learn and show initiative to
pick things up quickly and take in the mentoring that will be provided.
