[CALUG] Das Keyboard, KVM, and Win7 Problem

Hi All.

I've run into a situation that I'm hoping someone can provide some insight to. 

Recently I got myself a Das Keyboard. I've been real happy with it, love the feel of typing on it. However, it doesn't want to work with my KVM setup* which is a 2 port device. The problem comes in when I connect it to my Win7 work laptop. When I switch to my Linux machine the keyboard and mouse work without issue. However switching to my Win7 laptop the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. Only rebooting is guarenteed to fix the issue and is not a good solution for obvious reasons. Rarely I can unplug the kb and/or mouse and it will reset but not often enough for that to be a useful solution. In troubleshooting I've tried 3 different brands of KVMs, including 2 purchased from Microcenter. 

I contacted Das Keyboard's tech support and they say that they run into this occasionally but do not have a solution to offer nor can they recommend a KVM that works.
