*Job Description:*

The position will provide engineering support for the Solaris Unix and
Linux systems on multiple platforms, including engineering and build of
improvements to the environments for the Data Center Modernization project.
Responsible for administering and supporting all enterprise Unix/Linux
systems and environments.

Primary Job Duties:
* Providing administration for the health and welfare of the production and
non-production Unix/Linux environments.
* Provisioning, configuration, auditing, migration, capacity management,
and problem management of Unix/Linux environments.
* Engineering improvements to the existing environment as needed to meet
new and future needs.
* Acting as a Unix/Linux subject matter expert on project and support
teams.

Education and Experience:
* Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Business, or related major or
equivalent business experience.
*8 to 10 years' experience designing, implementing, and supporting
Unix/Linux server platforms and solutions.
* Experience designing, planning, and implementing large scale systems
architectures including patch schedules, asset management, software
management, user impact analysis, testing analysis and planning, risk
assessment and post implementation operational support.

Skills and Competencies:
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot application and / or infrastructure
related problems.
* Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent process work instruction and technical documentation
experience.
* Extensive knowledge of industry standard server technologies including in
an enterprise environment.
* Extensive knowledge of industry standard server technologies including
Oracle/SUN Solaris (9,10) and Red Hat/Oracle Linux operating systems in an
enterprise environment.
*Extensive knowledge of server hardware architectures, including but not
limited to Intel X86 and Oracle/Sun SPARC and Exadata/Exalogic platforms.
*Working knowledge of converged architectures.
*Working knowledge of system orchestration tools/solutions such as Oracle
Enterprise Manager (OEM) and HP Cloud Service automation
* Strong understanding of guest operating systems and their relationship to
virtual platforms
* Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting virtual platform issues
including the hypervisor, shared storage, and networking
* Experience working with various sourcing arrangements and hosted
technologies including IaaS and Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud offerings
* Experience with analysis, design, implementation, and testing of disaster
recovery and business continuity capabilities and technologies
* Broad experience and understanding of other common IS technologies -- such
as Active Directory, networking, DNS/DHCP, anti-virus, messaging, VPNs, and
IT security practices.
* Working in a distributed network environment.
