Edubuntu is Ubuntu with education packages pre-installed.
You could install any or all of the packages to most of the other Ubuntu flavors.

Hi All,
I built a small PC for my nephew's kids (ages 3-7) to use yesterday. Not
really knowing what version of Ubuntu is best for young kids, I googled
and came up with edubuntu. Got it installed and hope to give PC to kids
this week. (I will partly disassemble the PC and teach 7 yr old how to
assemble a PC.) What do you know about edubuntu? Is there a better OS
choice for kids this age? Thanks.
