[CALUG] August Meeting Announcement - Intro to Certificate Authorities

Greetings All,

For the August 12, 2020 CALUG meeting we will have a presentation from
Chuck Frain on the basics of running your own certificate authority.

Chuck Frain will give a presentation and overview of running your own
certificate authority (CA). Due to time limits, this will not be an in
depth presentation on how the certificate encryption works nor will this
presentation delve into a completely secure deployment.

Rather this talk will cover enough, hopefully, get you familiar with the
terms used with CAs and demonstrate a structure of keys and certificates to
deploy within a home lab or network. Once deployed, you will be rid of the
"This website is untrusted" warnings and click-through messages on your
devices.

We are going to be holding the meeting online for the foreseeable future.
Our friends at Aplura have graciously provided us access to their Zoom
account for our use. I intend to open the call at 6:30pm and start the
presentation at 7pm. There is a password to join the meeting which is in
the details that follow here. When joining participants will be muted and
video disabled by default. For audio, you may join using your computer’s
