Greetings All,

For the October 14, 2020 CALUG meeting we will have a presentation from
smallstep on Open-source Certificate Management.

Smallstep production identity makes it possible for everyone, and every
workload, to use strong cryptographic identities to securely communicate.
At the core of Smallstep is our open-source certificate management
toolchain. This toolchain provides the infrastructure, automation, and
workflows to securely create and operate a private certificate authority.
You can think of it as a private Let’s Encrypt (with a number of extra
registration protocols) for internal networks. With support for multiple
provisioners and both X.509 and SSH certificates, smallstep delivers a
complete open-source PKI toolchain built to address the needs of modern
infrastructure. In this talk, the smallstep team will demonstrate X.509 and
SSH certificate workflows with a focus on surfacing real-world applications
of certificate technology.

We are going to be holding the meeting online for the foreseeable future.
Our friends at Aplura have graciously provided us access to their Zoom
account for our use. I intend to open the call at 6:30pm and begin the
presentation at 7pm. There is a password to join the meeting which is in
the details that follow here. When joining participants will be muted and
video disabled by default. For audio, you may join using your computer’s
audio or the provided dial-in number.

Aplura LLC is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
