[CALUG] NIC gone missing with Ubuntu 11.10

Personally I have never had much luck with the
upgrades for just such reasons.

That is why I almost always do an install.

Upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10 seemed to work
but afterward the Network was unusable so I
just booted off the DVD, installed, and no
problem.
