I'd re-phrase ...

Ubuntu (and GNU/LInux), as an end-user desktop, is a 'virus and hacker
resistant' (greatly reduced attack vectors) operating system.

In more detail ...

GNU/Linux platform includes Internet clients (e.g., mail, web,
etc...), office suite and various applications and services that are
are never designed with features or automation at the expense of
security, and are updated with all other operating system components.

Other operating systems do not treat their clients, their office suite
and many other applications and services are primary security threats,
and often expense security at the hands of expected features and
automation.  Some components in these platforms were never designed
for systems connected to the Internet.
